2G Solutions presents at the Renewable Gas Show the CHP Cogeneration engine in 100% hydrogen operation that at the same time has the flexibility to mix different types of gases such as hydrogen, biogas or natural gas

This technology uses gas from splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen through electrolysis. Cogeneration systems use this regeneratively produced hydrogen as a climate-neutral fuel to convert it back into electricity, and also into heat or cold, in a highly efficient, economically attractive and technically robust way. 

The final recipient of the application of this technology is residential buildings, airports, wastewater treatment plants, shopping centers, industrial facilities, ports, heat networks, insulated facilities, shelters, hotels, farms. All these installations would have a common denominator which would be the need to use heat. 

Power-to-gas technology uses green electricity from these sources for the production of electrolysis and is the perfect complement to combine all technologies and continue supporting the demand of the network or the customer's self-consumption. This technology offers the great advantage that a customer who currently operates with natural gas or biogas can switch to hydrogen with the same engine, without large costs, simply by performing an upgrade based on direct injectors to the combustion chambers.

Hydrogen engines, unlike fuel cells, do not need pure hydrogen; they can operate with impurities in the gas flow. This hydrogen can be obtained as a by-product of industrial processes or synthesis gas with a high hydrogen content can be used, so all those industries that have hydrogen as a by-product would enter.
