Cycle 0 exhibitor at renewable gas trade show: new biomethane plant in Italy

Cycle0 boosts biomethane in Italy with the conversion of the Corte Pila plant

Cycle0, regular exhibitor and sponsor of the Renewable Gas Show, has announced the acquisition and conversion to biomethane of the plant of Stack Cut, located in the province of Mantua, in the Italian region of Lombardy.

The facility, operational since 2012, features 1 MW electric and tries 47.000 tons of agricultural waste annually, mainly slurry, manure and silage. After obtaining authorization for its conversion in 2024, the plant will produce an average of 44 GWh per year of biomethane, which will be injected directly into the gas network through a new connection point.

The operation is part of the €100 million investment plan which Cycle0 is developing in Italy. The plant will continue to have the participation of the previous owner, Franco Angeli, and will keep all equipment operational, ensuring continuity of service to the local agricultural community.

This acquisition adds to the Cycle0's first plant in Italy, currently under construction in Pontinia (Lazio). Together, both facilities will achieve a production of up to 90 GWh per year, equivalent to the average gas consumption of about 6.000 homes.

Cycle0's biomethane project development strategy in Europe was addressed by Andrés García-Lastra, the company's Director of Project Development, in his presentation during the last International Congress of Bioenergy, focused on the role of biomethane and other renewable gases in a sustainable and competitive economy.
