Cycle0, a company that recently exhibited at the Renewable Gas Show, has inaugurated two new biomethane plants in Spain, located in Manlleu (Barcelona) and Artajona (Navarra). This brings Cycle0's total to seven operational facilities in the country, as part of its plan to deploy up to 30 biomethane plants and invest €200 million in the development of renewable gas in Spain.
Both plants transform livestock waste into biogas, which is then purified using proprietary technology from a subsidiary of the group to generate biomethane. Each has the capacity to produce up to 120 Nm³ per hour—equivalent to approximately 15 GWh annually—which is injected into the gas grid via a connection point also belonging to the group. This renewable gas directly contributes to decarbonization, supports the local economy, and generates employment in the affected areas.
These new facilities reinforce Cycle0's strategy, which already includes plants in Lleida, Castilla-La Mancha, and Galicia, and its first private grid connection point. The goal: to cover a significant portion of Spain's gas consumption with biomethane, contributing to the Biogas Route's target of 20 TWh of renewable energy by 2030.
Cycle0 was a PREMIUM SPONSOR of the last edition of the Renewable Gas Show.
