The Spanish Biomass Association (AVEBIOM) celebrates the success of the latest edition of the Renewable Gas Fair, which took place on October 1 and 2 in Valladolid. More than 3.600 attendees and 250 exhibitors met, generating an economic impact close to 3 millones de euros for the city.
«For the fourth consecutive year, the Renewable Gas Fair has demonstrated its ability to boost the local economy in very diverse sectors», says Javier Díaz, president of AVEBIOM.
The influx of national and international visitors during the week of the event has generated a hotel occupancy rate of close to 90% and a significant increase in the average activity of restaurants and shops during these dates.
In addition, the event has required the participation of strategic sectors such as logistics and support services for assembly and disassembly and the hiring of auxiliary staff such as hostesses, technicians and operators.
The mobility sector also recorded a significant gain with hundreds of taxi and other public transport services, along with train and air travel, used by numerous attendees arriving from other cities and countries.
Public-private collaboration: key to the success of the event
The support of the Valladolid City Council and the commitment of the Regional Government of Castilla y León have been fundamental in consolidating the Renewable Gas Fair as a benchmark in renewable energies on a European scale.
“The collaboration of the city council through the Agency for Innovation and Economic Development, IdeVa, has contributed to the growth of the event and has facilitated the creation of an attractive environment for the key players in innovation and development of this energy sector,” adds Diaz.
Valladolid: a benchmark in bioenergy and sustainability
The success of this edition of the Salon, added to that of the biennial fair EXPOBIOMASA, consolidates Valladolid's image as a leading venue in Spain for events of relevance in renewable energies and positions the city as a centre of innovation and sustainable development.
«The holding of these events is synergistic with the city's climate neutrality and decarbonisation objectives and supports Valladolid's alignment with the European Union's sustainability policies», highlights the president of AVEBIOM.
AVEBIOM trusts that institutional support and public-private collaboration will continue in future editions, allowing Valladolid to continue consolidating itself as a strategic hub in bioenergy and in the drive towards a green economy for the entire country.
