Biogas roadmap

The Government approves the Biogas Roadmap

The Council of Ministers, at the proposal of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (MITECO), approved the Biogas Roadmap on March 22. With three key challenges, and now urgent:

Multiply the current production of biogas by 3,8 until 2030, exceeding 10,4 TWh in order to reduce dependence on gas of fossil origin and focus on the recovery of agricultural waste, agri-food industries, municipal waste and sewage sludge, among others. others.

Create a system of guarantees of origin, similar to that of renewable electricity, so that consumers can distinguish biogas from conventional fossil gas, highlighting its renewable origin; A royal decree in process contemplates such a system.

Activated an aid line of 150 million for unique biogas projects under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. A ministerial order with the regulatory bases is being processed.
