Enagás Renovable, premium sponsor of the Renewable Gas Show and the International Bioenergy Congress, is launching two expressions of interest processes to update the sector's demand and size new key infrastructures for industrial decarbonization.
Enagás has announced the launch of two new non-binding Calls For InterestOne is aimed at the development of renewable hydrogen infrastructure, and the other is focused on the CO₂ logistics chain.
La inquiry about hydrogen This initiative is aimed at producers, consumers, and distributors interested in the use of hydrogen infrastructure in Spain, both for domestic consumption and export. Its objective is to update the information obtained in the first Call for Interest launched by Enagás in 2023, identify new projects, and further develop the sizing of the necessary infrastructure. The form will be available until June 18, following an online information session scheduled for May 18 at 15:30 p.m.
According to Enagás, the Spanish Hydrogen Backbone Network has progressed in its technical development and will consist of 2.600 kilometers of pipelines distributed across 15 sections. The company indicates that the basic engineering for most of the sections has been completed and the detailed engineering phase has begun for several of them. This infrastructure is included on the European list of Projects of Common Interest.
In parallel, Enagás is launching a specific consultation for CO₂ infrastructure, aimed at emitters and potential users interested in solutions for capturing, transporting, storing, and utilizing carbon dioxide. This process will allow for updating and expanding the information gathered in 2023, with the goal of advancing logistics solutions based on hubs, tailored to the needs of the industry. The form will be open until June 30, with an information session scheduled for May 20 at 10:30 a.m.
