The Monegros, Baix Ebre, and Gironès Nord stations have been supplying only BioLNG and BioCNG since December 9th. By 2026, the entire group's network will operate exclusively on biomethane.
HAM Group, a regular exhibitor at the Show and a pioneer in the development of natural gas vehicles, has taken a step towards the decarbonization of heavy and light transport. Since December 9th, the stations Monegros LNG-C, Baix Ebre LNG-C y Gironès Nord LNG they now offer only BioLNG y BioGNC, completely replacing fossil natural gas.
Their transition will culminate throughout 2026, when 100% of the more than 50 stations in the Grupo HAM network in Spain and Europe exclusively supply biomethaneIn this way, the company will become one of the first European operators to have a complete refueling network based on renewable gas.
Locally sourced biomethane for more sustainable mobility
The biomethane that will supply these stations comes mainly from plants close to points of consumptionreinforcing the circular economy model that the company promotes. Currently, HAM has biomethane produced in waste treatment plants in Catalonia and Aragon and in management plants of slurry and agricultural waste in GironaThis will be in addition to the energy generated by new facilities that will come into service throughout 2026 in different Spanish regions.
HAM Group's management emphasizes that: “The use of biomethane is key to reducing CO₂ emissions from transportation without modifying vehicles or infrastructure. This transition will allow logistics companies, fleets, and industrial operators to immediately advance their sustainability strategies, using the same technology but with a 100% renewable fuel. With its implementation at all our stations, we close the sustainability loop: we produce biomethane, distribute it using our own technology, and make it available to thousands of carriers. Biomethane is not just an alternative: it is the energy of the present.”
The pillars of HAM's strategy
The announced plan is part of a roadmap based on three strategic pillars:
- Decarbonization of road transportespecially heavy transport.
- Revaluation of organic waste through the efficient production of biomethane.
- Proprietary technological development in liquefaction, storage and distribution of renewable gases.
