However, those seeking small-scale upgrading alternatives are limited to “scaled down” versions of these technologies and encounter these common limitations:
- They are energy-intensive processes, requiring high pressures (up to 20bar) and/or high temperatures.
- They require biogas preconditioning.
- They do not include a process for capturing and storing CO2 extracted from biogas.
