Royal Decree 376/2022, of May 17, which regulates the sustainability criteria and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from biofuels, bioliquids and biomass fuels, as well as the system of guarantees of origin of renewable gases determines in its title II the creation of a system of guarantees of origin applicable to renewable gases, establishing the definition of these guarantees, their content, the conditions of dispatch, as well as the designation of an entity responsible for their management. and the management procedure of the aforementioned system.
Article 19 of the aforementioned Royal Decree 376/2022, of May 17, gives the mandate to the head of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge to approve, following a report from the National Commission of Markets and Competition and consultation to the interested agents, a procedure for managing the system of guarantees of origin of gas from renewable sources, also determining the minimum content of said procedure.
Within a period of six months from the approval of the Management Procedure through the approval of this proposed Order, the Technical Manager of the System as the Responsible Entity must put into operation the system of guarantees of origin of gas from renewable sources and the Registration of gas production facilities from renewable sources.
