Waga installation in DROME

Waga Energy commissions a WAGABOX® unit in Drôme

On April 11, a new WAGABOX unit for biomethane production went into production at the Veolia Energy Storage Cluster (PSE) in Chatuzange-le-Goubet (Drôme) thanks to Waga Energy.

This unit WAGABOX® It will produce up to 25 GWh of biomethane per year, which is equivalent to the consumption of 3.500 homes, avoiding the emission into the atmosphere of 4.000 tons of CO2 equivalent per year.

Thanks to WAGABOX® technology, the gas naturally emitted by buried waste is captured and transformed into biomethane, a source of clean and renewable energy. This biomethane is then injected directly into GRDF's distribution network to supply local homes and businesses.

The Chatuzange-le-Goubet center processes up to 150.000 tonnes of waste each year and until now it was recovered in the form of electricity using cogeneration engines. The WAGABOX group is added to these engines ® With a processing capacity of 600 m 3 /h of raw gas, the unit can produce up to 25 GWh of biomethane per year.

This revolutionary purification solution, which is already operational in dozens of waste storage sites around the world, actively contributes to the fight against emissions of methane, a greenhouse gas with strong warming potential, and provides a solution competitive to replace fossil gas.
